Song Sparrow.
Nippy morning. Sunny morning. Saturday morning. Got out early with dog for a hike.

Birch.
We were the only ones at Beech Hill—the only dog and human, that is. Quite a few birds were hanging around. And for the first time in a while, the wind wasn’t howling. It was damn beautiful up there.
The phoebes are back, ready to nest up at Beech Nut. Song Sparrows are back. Cardinals and chickadees singing merrily. Budding trees, evidence of green, an early morning peeper or two.
Life on a tilted planet is a miracle.
