About a quarter-inch of snow fell over night, and the world had a film of white when the sun rose. It being Saturday, I decided Jack and I should hike earlier than usual lately—we got there about mid-morning. Just above freezing, light wind, quite a few birds on the list. We beat most of the Beech Hill hikers today.
Elsewhere, a pleasant day. Birds out back, too. The new snow melted by about midday, I’d say.
A pretty mild evening tonight, too. Not like your usual late January in Maine.
