Crazy winter

Sunday, January 31st, 2016
Beech Nut, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 31 January 2016.

Beech Nut.

Drizzled last night. Still warm this morning—although right about freezing. Little birds flitting about, making a lot of noice. Singing titmice. Chipping goldfinches. Hollering jays.

Took another morning hike with dog. Beech Hill was colorful under the overcast. I saw no birds at all—but heard five species.

Descending, I thought again about how crazy this winter is, weather-wise. Just a crazy, crazy winter.

I wonder if it’ll be followed by a crazy spring photoshop cs5 download.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
