Cloudless

Friday, September 4th, 2015
Blue Jay, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 September 2015.

Blue Jay.

Cloudless day, dry and mild. Dog and I hiked Beech Hill earlier than we have been lately, and birds were about—but mostly in hiding. All except for the Turkey Vulture that floated overhead.

Clouded Sulphur, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 September, 2015.

Clouded Sulphur.

Dragonflies still out. And butterflies. Grasshoppers. Crickets. Bees.

The equinox is approaching, I can tell by the earlier arrival of evening. Tonight is sweet and cool.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
