Today was cool and cloudless. Tonight was starry, with aurora borealis appearing from time to time. I got a glimpse. A friend got a great photo. I’m happy to have chosen to live on the 44th parallel.
Beech Hill was quiet this evening. Got a good look at a little family of vireos. Surprised a flicker.
Elsewhere, birds were nervous, active. Geese are still browing in a big green grass field on Meadow Street. Saw a Great Blue Heron winging slowly over Chickawaukie Lake—very near where I ended up about 9 p.m., in search of the aurora.
Got a glimpse, as I say.
