The trees rain

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011
Wild rose, Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine, 14 June 2011.

Wild rose.

Another wet one. Cold. Had to turn the heat on. Overcast. Drizzle. Rain.

Made it to Beech Hill finally. (Saw a roadside turkey along the way.) When the breeze blew, the soggy canopy rained. A few birds called. We made it to the summit. Green, wet, cold. Saw a savannah sparrow sitting on the sod roof of Beech Nut. Turned around and slogged back down.

The phoebe tends her nest. A black-throated green warbler sings in the distance.

What a wet and cloudy year so far. Tonight, the trees still rain.
