An overcast morning, temps in the 40s (F), and rain showers in the forecast. I could see curtains of rain to the west, but they didn’t seem to be reaching the ground—and, sure, enough, dog and I didn’t feel a raindrop until we’d nearly returned from our hike.
Quite a few birds (also deer), but none would pose for photos—until a junco perched near the trail. Juncos have rather monopolized my winter photos lately. They’re relatively abundant compared to most other species.
This evening came a thunderstorm—a brief one, which delivered a good layer of thunder-graupel on the deck. Tomorrow will be sunny (so they say), and it’ll be our last hike on the deer trails until Friday. Yep, our quick trip to L.A. will break my personal streak (dating back to October 2019—Jack has missed a few days since then).
Been a good run, though. Truly.
