Cloud, from Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 March 2014.

Cloud.

Up early. Desk work. Raced around a little, ran some errands. Finally hiked Beech Hill with dog.

Beech Hill.

Thought it might be a birdless hike, but then I happened to spot a solitary a flicker, and as we were leaving, I heard a chickadee. Elsewhere, I noticed quite a few birds—including a Northern Shrike in residential Owls Head. Didn’t go far out of my way, though, or I might’ve had another owl on my list today.
