Temperatures right around freezing when first I looked, but the weather reports showed clear skies and little wind, so I figured it’d be a comfortable hike with dog this morning. And it was, on the wooded trails—but a big ol’ cloud moved overhead, and the winds were pretty dang strong from the northwest, and the temperature didn’t climb much… Gotta say my fingers got a bit cold by the time we dove back down into the woods.
But bluebirds were around in the open fields, as were goldfinches and yellow-rumps. And I had ten species on my list today. And several birds posed.
Less than three weeks till winter. Gotta say, I can’t complain.
