Warm morning, hot hike. Dog panting, me sweating. But it was all worth it just to get a glimpse of a couple of teeny-tiny baby Black-headed Grosbeaks in the nest near the trailhead. I’m gonna have fun following the swift growth of those little ones.
Birds were hunkered down, singing from shady places. No great photos—but nice cool nap for Jack when we were done.
