’Rump

Friday, November 15th, 2019
Yellow-rumped Warbler, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 15 November 2019.
Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Saw my first Yellow-rumped Warbler on the trail today. It seemed like a milestone of sorts.

I’ve seen them—out here they’re the Audubon’s subspecies, with a yellow throat as well as rump—flitting through the back yard trees in afternoon, but this was the first bird up the mountainside trail I hike with dog every day. Believe it or not, it was quite a thrill.

Had another eight species this morning also. Good day.
