Birds Emerge

Saturday, January 26th, 2019
House Sparrow (female), Rockland, Maine, 26 January 2019.
House Sparrow (female).

A nippy morning with a bracing wind. Ice all over the hill today—all over everywhere, really, except the sunny spots—but also quite a few birds emerging. Passerines mostly. Corvids, and a passel of ducks at the harbor.

Got my best looks at a little flock of House Sparrows in a viny little bush by the food co-op in town.

(Note sure yet, but I might bring dog tomorrow finally.)

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
