Town Birds

Sunday, December 30th, 2018
House Sparrow, Rockland, Maine, 30 December 2018.

House Sparrow.

Snow two days ago, big thaw yesterday, big chill today. Birds were hunkered down—saw none on the hill, in fact (although I did hear a couple of species)—except in town. Gulls, crows, pigeons, and a tidy flock of agreeable House Sparrows.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
