Last Day of 2018

Monday, December 31st, 2018
Hairy Woodpecker (female), Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 31 December 2018.

Hairy Woodpecker (female).

Mid-20s (F), slight southeast breeze, overcast. Precipitation due tomorrow, just a nervous sort of stasis on the hill today. Along with the voices of a few peripheral birds. I did finally see two: crow and Hairy Woodpecker.

Tomorrow—the first day of 2019—should be an interesting one.
