Eastern Bluebird.
About halfway up Beech Hill this bright, nippy morning, I heard the faint voices of bluebirds, so Jack and I stopped, and I moved my head around to see if I could gauge their direction. The voices were above moving—they were in flight. I scanned the blue and saw nothing for several seconds, then saw a tiny motion and trained my binocs on what turned out to be five Eastern Bluebirds.

We stood and I watched as the birds dipped down and perched in a birch tree growing not twenty feet away, which made it east to grab a portrait or two.
My best bird photos happen after I’ve just been standing still and waiting for a while.
