Surrounded by ’rumps

Sunday, October 4th, 2015

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 October 2015.

Yellow-rumped Warbler.

Lovely cool evening hike at Beech Hill with Jack today. Many dogs around—at least nine or ten, and maybe a dozen. Also many Yellow-rumped Warblers.

October crows, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 04 October 2015.

October crows.

So many yellow-rumps, in fact, that when we got to the summit spruce grove, I stood there for a long time just watching them flit in and out of the trees, hunting flies. I bet there were at least three, four dozen up there.

Towhee still. Robins around also. And a mini-convention of crows down toward the bay.
