Cool and sort of mostly cloudy. I think. Maybe not. Sun, then clouds? I guess I got distracted by work deep within a computer screen. But I did get out for a while with Jack and Mark, accomplished some tasks. Then at the end of it, Jack and I took a quick brisk Beech hill hike.
The highlight of the day, bird-wise, would be the harrier that flew directly over our heads. Alas, it flew directly over our heads, which pretty much made it impossible to photograph—at least for me. Still, it was sweet.
The sky was pretty sweet, too—amid the gun-metal gray, little sunrays angling down to illuminate assorted bay islands. Even had a little chill drizzle spatter us going up. Wisps of rain dipped from the gray clouds hanging above the inland hills.
Still robins. No bluebirds. No thrush today (although I did see something flit where it appeared yesterday). One sparrow. Jay. A couple late yellow-rumps.
We might get a freeze tonight.
