Another in a string of lovely days. Also, a Friday. Feeling a lot better after nearly four weeks recovering from my bike crash—so well, in fact, that I decided to take a twenty-mile ride this afternoon. And I loved it.
Late to the hill with Jack, but birds were posing for a change. Yellowthroats, for instance, and a whole slew of towhees, gawky teenagers and alert adults, that scattered as we were returning down the sloping trail. I’d stopped to chat with a fellow hiker and was perhaps a bit too eager to point out all the shy, secretive birds around us: towhee, song sparrow, waxwing, catbird.
Slept well tonight.
