Eastern Bluebird, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 09 April 2018.

Eastern Bluebird.

A cold, stout wind morning greeted dog and I when we arrived on the hill at mid-morning. Also a crow and gull. And, near the blustery summit, a tittering bluebird.

Eider

Saturday, April 7th, 2018
Common Eider, Rockland Breakwater, Rockland, Maine, 07 April 2018.

Common Eider.

Awoke to four or five inches of fresh snow all over everything, spread evenly, pearly white. Jack and I were first up the main trail, and there were a few birds about, but none accommodating enough for photos.

So this afternoon we took a little walk to the end of the breakwater, where we encountered an eider duck at high tide.
