Moon over Clam Cove.
A discombobulating sort of day. Kicking myself for not going out cycling—the temperature got to 44 degrees (F) at my place. Sun, sun. Thaw. Jack and I didn’t get out in it until late in the day. Got to Beech Hill and discovered I’d forgotten my camera.
So of course I figured there’d be some great photos—maybe even a snowy owl. Sure enough, right away I saw a bright-breasted robin sitting high in the crown of a bare hardwood. Farther up the muddy slope, I got a load of the moon. A nearly full moon, rising low beyond the summit. It looked great just hanging there above Mt. Desert Island.
But no snowy owl.
Coming back down Powerhouse Hill, I got a load of the moon over Clam Cove, climbing through a pinkish sky.
