Snowed a lot overnight, as forecast. Didn’t really stop snowing all day (at least not for very long)—but during the first semi-lull in late morning, Captain Jack and I headed up the street to the trailhead.
We weren’t the only ones up there. (Met a couple hiker friends and their dogs.) But we did walk a good long way on virgin snow.
And saw birds! Including a pair of eagles, in fact, tittering at each other way up amid the snowflakes. (Too obscured for a decent photo.) Then back home at my desk, I spied a Sharp-shinned Hawk out the window.
Good hike, big snow, and decent birding.
