Water Magic

Three crows, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 19 December 2017.

Three crows.

Four or five inches of light, fluffy snow fell overnight. This morning, I could tell from the tracks, Jack and I were the second human-dog pair to hike the hill. I could also tell that hares and voles had been about. Little birds in the trees along the road. Crows.

Water magic.

And in on the high slopes, Nature had made a kind of art I’d never seen—with water.
