American crow.
Busy ol’ desk work day. Out of doors, the weather had warmed and brightened—but the wind still howled. Jack and I finally found our way to Beech Hill in mid-afternoon.

Side door.
Too windy for much bird life, but peepers were singing—and the clouds were kind of beautiful. Big, billowing cumulus all over the place. If you look closely, you can see little green things underfoot—although it’ll still be a couple weeks or so before things start busting out. Still no kestrels, but soon.
At home, quite a few birds were active. I particularly liked spending a moment or two watching a calling phoebe just outside my upstairs window.
Tonight is comparatively warm and fragrant. Didn’t even have to turn the heat up.
