Eastern Phoebe.
A drippy, rainy, chilly, lovely gray day. I stayed indoors for most of it, working on fonts and stuff, but got out late with Jack. I’d waited for a break in the great green swath on the weather radar.

Clash of phoebes.
Still drizzling a little when we got up there, but we were alone. Alone except for a bunch of birds, turned out. Including my first Beech Hill phoebe, hunting as they do early in the season, perched on weed stalks, scanning for crawling things. I got a few photos when suddenly a flurry of action, and what looked like two birds flitting away in the damp afternoon.
Only later when I downloaded my images—two birds for sure.
