Black-capped Chickadee.
Woke up about the same time I did yesterday, but for some reason, the clocks said it was an hour later. Weird. No, really—weird. And redonkulous. Will we never get rid of Daylight Savings—OK, Daylight Saving Time in my lifetime? Or will I have to set my age back by a few years?

Beech Nut.
But never mind all that. What a glorious day! I couldn’t stay inside very long, and ended up heading over to Beech Hill with Jack at… Well, it was before noon. Upper 40s (F) when we got there, at least, and we hiked all trails, and I was sweatin’ all up in here by the time we got back to the truck. Oddly, very few birds. Elsewhere, I watched a cardinal fly across the road in front of me, saw a Turkey Vulture circling overhead, noticed the tiny little red bundles of energy dotting the joints of maple branches, breathed tasty air, and talked to some friendly strangers. Jack got some scratches, too.
