Another foggy morning—but today the fog persisted, subsided briefly, then returned even thicker than before. Meantime, I spent a few productive hours at my desk before hitting the hill a bit earlier than I have been to meet my friend, the exceptional photographer Keith Carver, who was on a blueberry-photographing expedition. What better place that Beech Hill Preserve.
Had a nice chat on the way to a patch of blubes. A Field Sparrow and a wood-nymph fluttered by. That goal achieved, Jack and I returned for a quick jaunt to the foggy summit. A young Savannah Sparrow led the way for a while.
Tonight the trees are dripping—and the dry landscape is grateful for the gentle shower.
