Foggy ol’ day today. Wet, drippy, warm. No, really—like, pretty darn close to 60 degrees (F) warm.
Busy ol’ day, too, getting ready for a wing-ding at work this evening. I managed to grab a mid-afternoon hike with dog. Mid-afternoon must’ve been the foggiest part of the day and, ironically, I saw all but one of the birds on my Beech Hill list—a jay, yammering in the middle distance, as jays tend to do. Also saw a turkey take off straight up in a little stand of hardwoods there. And a pigeon at the dump.
Deer have been moving around, as they do this time of year. The other day I came upon a doe and youngster in the middle of the road in evening, and now I’m watching the roadsides.
Late tonight, the sky has cleared off completely, and the temperature is headed down. And I saw Orion rising for the first time in a couple of seasons.
