Slowly melting

Icicle, Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine, 04 April 2013.

Icicle.

Woke up early after getting to bed late. Got busy early, got sleepy late. Sort of a frustrating day—but had a nice little meeting in Owls Head. Sunny day, breeze. Not overly warm. Dog and I hit Beech Hill late. Several others up there, including at least four little kids who (after asking politely) got to pet Jack. (Then again, just going by his expression, Jack was the truly lucky one.) The icicles hanging from the eaves of Beech Nut were slowly melting.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
