Saw and heard pairs of nuthatches wherever I went today. Well, was only in two places, really—home and at Beech Hill—but there they were, at both. Come to think of it, pairs of titmice were also at both places. Also chickadees. Singing cardinals. Crows.
And wind! The temperature rose into the balmy 40s (F), but the wind was so wild and gusty that as Jack and I neared the summit of the hill, it blew my hat about twenty or thirty feet away.
Lovely day, though. I must say I kind of like a chilly early spring.
