Crows were noisy this morning—flapping about, hollering at each other, chasing raptors. House finches were singing. A cloudy sky, but thawy. And the sun even came out for a little while. Plenty of little birds at the base of Beech Hill. And then, ascending the open trail with the dogs, I heard a raven. We stopped. I scanned the valley behind us. And there it was, winging majestically along.
