This morning was a different sort of morning from yesterday morning. Clear, not overcast; breeze, not wind; chilly, not icy. As a result, many more bird species.
Most notable? A trio of woodpeckers. Down in the lower woods, I heard a couple of woodpeckers pecking on trees: a deep, slow pecking and a brighter, more percussive pecking. The first turned out to be (as I suspected) a Pileated Woodpecker, and the second, a Hairy Woodpecker. Soon after, I spied a downy—thus the trio.
Also bluebirds. Also juncos, and a solitary yellow-rump.
Kinda looking forward to tomorrow (forecast sounds similar, but maybe warmer).
