Cardinals singing everywhere

American Robin, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 16 March 2016.

American Robin.

Awoke to a lightly overcast morning, with temperatures in the low-40s (F). Ate breakfast, checked election results, got busy working on letterspacing and kerning, kerning and letterspacing—which I did (with few breaks) until mid-afternoon, when it was time to take Jack for a hike.

Overlook.

A bunch of cars in the lot. Encountered one big group of young people coming down as we ascended Beech Hill, but that was it. Not sure where everybody else was. Robins still about. Cardinals singing everywhere today it seems.

I hear we’re supposed to be getting a snowstorm Monday, the first full day of spring. Should be a nice change-of-pace from the spring-like winter we’ve had.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
