Very busy, fruitful day. Desk work, lawn, vacuum, sofrito, hike with Jack. We had the hill pretty much to ourselves this late-afternoon—and it was great. Even though there were flies all over the place. Especially up toward the tips of the spruces at the summit, where waxwings were picking ’em off like grapes on a vine.
Tonight is cool and still and fragrant and lovely. August is a sweet time of year here.
