On our walk up Beech Hill today, Jack and I spotted a vole hurrying across the trail. This gave me hope of seeing a harrier for the fourth straight day. I didn’t—but I did watch a raven hovering low over the barren and dipping down as if it was after a small rodent. And soon after I spotted two Red-tailed Hawks circling over the southern slope. One of these even stopped to hover a couple times.
I saw no actual hunt, however.
It was kind of bright and kind of sunny. Kind of a lovely day.
