Spring

Tuesday, April 1st, 2014
American robins, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 01 April 2014.

American Robins in staghorn sumac.

The clouds blew away early, and the sun shone, and the temperature climbed into the 40s (F). Kind of windy, but not windy enough to wear more than a sweatshirt on my Beech Hill hike with Jack, who turned six today. Bunch of robins up there. Bunch of birds all over the place (though no outlandish migrants yet).

Truly felt like spring today.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
