Before the chill

Sunday, January 20th, 2013
Oaks, Glen Cove, Rockport, Maine, 20 October 2013.

Oaks.

Well, winter’s supposed to arrive with a vengeance this coming week—frigid temperatures, at least, and likely some frozen precipitation. But this only made today’s implausible warmth all the more divine. I mean, sure, there was some wind (a lot of wind), but it was a warm wind. Plenty of thawing going on. Mud. Slush Rivulets. Sunny for the first half of it, and then things turned a little overcast for a while, and finally, tonight, we’ve got a clearing sky. And it’s sure enough getting pretty cold.
