Today dawned cool and sunny—at least I assume it did, because I slept past dawn, and it was cool and sunny when I did awaken. Puttered around the old homestead, did some writing, started watching a little college football. In mid-afternoon, Jack and I took our daily break. By then (much like yesterday), clouds had moved over and a bit of a breeze had moved in.
A single car in the parking lot, and those folks left directly. A couple little birds in the trees. A yellow-rump along the first ascent. Crows in the periphery. As I have been lately, I heard both flicker and jay down the southern slope. (Later, I even saw a jay down by the parking lot.) Nothing at the summit but dramatic views of the November sky.
Couple new species back down at the parking lot. Couple of other hikers, too.
Earlier tonight, there were stars up there, but a little while ago, light rain began to fall (from the November sky).
