Thrush

Wednesday, October 10th, 2018
Hermit Thrush, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 10 October 2018.

Hermit Thrush.

Amazing warmth today. Warm enough early, but 85 degrees (F) in the afternoon. Record-breaking, doubtless.

Meanwhile, birds were scarce at the hill this morning—or perhaps keeping cool in the shade. I did spot a quick, quiet bird flitting through the undergrowth. No chip! of a Yellow-rumped Warbler. A thrush, I thought.

Occasionally I get it right.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
