I thought the sun would come out for a minute there. I saw scraps of blue. But by the time Jack and I started our daily hike, a big gray fog of precipitation moved in—sort of a rain-snow-sleet affair—and we got wet. Also cold.
But I enjoyed aiming my camera at a Brown Creeper prowling the trunks of pines near the parking lot. Little guy was emitting his subtle, burry note. Too dim for sharp shots, but nice to watch the bird.
We walked up, we walked down, and as we were leaving the parking lot a bit of sunlight poked through the clouds.
Tonight is clear as obsidian. Orion rises—and following it, bright twinkling Sirius.
