Great day

Saturday, March 16th, 2013
Birches, Beech Hill, Rockport, Maine, 16 March 2013.

Birches.

Sunny and chilly. I did final proofing for much of the day, then took a quick blue-sky hike with Jack up Beech Hill. Several other folks up there despite the chill. Also some birds’ voices. Also views of some lovely, spare March landscapes.

Then I headed up to the Rockport Opera House to attend another spectacular birthday benefit party organized by my friend Shannon (on the occasion of her birthday). This year, her generosity got me contra dancing for the first time.

(Today happens also to be the anniversary of my favorite day ever: my daughter’s birthday.)
