Raw

December 27th, 2017
Northern Cardinal (female), Rockport, Maine, 27 December 2017.

Northern Cardinal (female).

A sunny, blue-sky, cold, raw, windy day. Had a couple cardinals out back. Saw a raven during out Beech Hill hike—which was short and sweet, tell you what.

Herring Gull, Rockland, Maine, 26 December 2017.

Herring Gull.

Cold temps, cloudless skies, and a raw wind made for an interesting Beech Hill hike this morning. Birds stayed out of the wind, pretty much. But in afternoon, I got a photo of a gull on the roof of Hannaford.

Christmas Day Blizzard

Captain Jack after our hike.

Has a little blizzard today. Dog and I hiked kind of early to avoid the biggest snow. (We ended up with eight or ten inches.) Still blew like crazy, and the temperature dipped all day. Pretty cold up there. I did hear a chickadee, though.
