On something of a lark this chilly, overcast morning, dog and I climbed straight up to the ridge above our usual trail—and a little farther, reaching about 6,300 feet. No birds up there (few anywhere today), but a wonderful long view.
Did see a few of the usual suspects down near the trailhead—including a sparrow in a rose bush.
