Juncos Everywhere

Sunday, October 20th, 2019
Dark-eyed Junco, East Millcreek, Salt Lake City, Utah, 20 October 2019.
Dark-eyed Junco.

Snowed a little overnight for the first time this season. Dog an I waited until late morning to hike the mountain…

…and found juncos everywhere. Dark-eyed Juncos, but in many different sets of plumage in many color combinations. Dark ones, pale ones, two-tone, you name it. There were scores of ’em up there.

Snow should be melted soon (except in the upper altitudes, of course).

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
