A Chickadee Behavior

Sunday, November 18th, 2018
Black-capped Chickadee, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 18 November 2018.

Black-capped Chickadee.

This morning was chilly and bright—and quiet. Heard a couple of crows, but that was it until up at the summit, when I ran into a little pod of chickadees.

Chickadees like to peck about in the tips of small broken-off branches, I’ve noticed. Morsels in there.
