Good timing

Thursday, March 10th, 2016
American Crow, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 10 March 2016.

American Crow.

When first I looked early, it was 51 degrees (F) out. Positively warm. And gray, and calm. Had an appointment at mid-morning, so I took care of some business then left Jack at home for a while. Soon after our return, we hit the hill.

Song Sparrow, near Mount Battie, Camden, Maine, 10 March 2016.

Song Sparrow.

Nice up there. Muddy as shit, and I collected some other dog’s shit, and I picked up some garbage, and the light was wondrous, and the air smelled sweet, and the feel of it in my lungs was cool and fresh. Lots of birds around—in the 50s, why not?

To make things even more delicious, it started to rain just about the time we climbed back into the truck.

Which, considering I had no back on my GoPro today, was pretty good timing.
