Downy Woodpecker.
Teens and low 20s (F) today. Winds still a-whippin’. Did a bunch of desk work, then took a hike with dog.

Rising moon.
Encountered a bunch of high school kids in pickups in the Beech Hill parking lot. They left in kind of a hurry. Encountered quite a few bird species—but just one actual hiker (and her dog).
A cloudless day. The moon rose over the ocean and, tonight, illuminated the snowy back yard.
