Photogenic nuthatch

Thursday, January 14th, 2016
White-breasted Nuthatch, near Mount Battie, Camden, Maine, 14 January 2016.

White-breasted Nuthatch.

Teens this morning. Nearly cloudless. A little breeze. The photoperiod is lengthening noticeably.

Bunch of desk work, then a quick afternoon hike with dog. No birds yesterday, but quite a few species today—including a vocal pair of Hairy Woodpeckers. But the most photogenic bird was a nuthatch in the back yard.
