Gloves for a change

Wednesday, January 13th, 2016
Cold hike, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 13 January 2016.

Cold hike.

Chilly day, windy day. Temps in the lower 20s (F), winds of 20 m.p.h and up. But that didn’t stop me and Jack from our afternoon hike up to the airy summit of Beech Hill.

Red, white, and blue, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 13 January 2016.

Red, white, and blue.

We were the only ones up there. No birds even. I did see footprints—at least one other person (and one other dog) had preceded us.

I wore gloves for a change.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
