The wind, the wind

Sunday, March 22nd, 2015
Windblown, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 22 March 2015.

Windblown.

Work. Errands. Cold, cold hike. The temperature wasn’t so bad—about average for the time of year, maybe—but the wind was howling. Howling. First the wind pushed Jack and me up the Beech Hill trail, and then later tried to keep us from descending.

Expected no people, despite the sunny Sunday—and there sure enough weren’t any.

Expected no birds in such a wind. There were three species.

Tonight is calmer. A few dim stars up there.

Bird Report is a (sometimes intermittent) record of the birds I encounter while hiking, see while driving, or spy outside my window. —Brian Willson
