Seven feet tall

Thursday, February 26th, 2015
Birch, Beech Hill Preserve, Rockport, Maine, 27 February 2015.

Birch.

Today, at the end of the day, at the summit of Beech Hill, coming around the corner of Beech Nut in the chill air, Jack and I spooked a flicker. Not sure what it was doing up there on the porch of the hut with all that snow around.

Speaking of snow—this much of it makes for an interesting vantage: essentially, I’ve been looking at the natural world from the point-of-view of a man at least seven feet tall.

Beech Hill List
